Charles Hugh Roberson (May 10, 1919 - June 8, 1988) was an American actor and stuntman. [1] Roberson was born near Shannon, Texas, the son of farmer Ollie W. Roberson and Jannie Hamm Roberson. Raised on cattle ranches in Shannon, Texas, Roswell, New Mexico [2] he left school at 13 to become a cowhand and oilfield roughneck.

He, sadly, succumbed to cancer June 8, 1988, at 69. At the time of his death he was raising horses on his ranch in Bakersfield, CA. I first met Chuck on location in Nogales, AZ, doing "McLintock". He knew from talking to me I took the movie business very seriously and my dream was to become a respected stuntman like him.
